Movie 1

EC extensions are dynamic and together form an elaborate meshwork.
A 60-minute time-lapse movie showing wild type behaviour of Eb1-GFP labelled ECs; EC nuclei are indicated (blue outline). ECs contain prominent extensions that are stable for the duration of the movie (yellow arrowheads). These extensions form an elaborate meshwork that encapsulates germ line cysts (grey voids). ECs also form short-lived sidebranches that dynamically protrude, retract and contact each other (magenta arrowheads). The presented maximum projection includes 20 z-planes per time point at focal planes 1 μm apart, captured in 1-minute intervals. Scale bar is 20 μm.
