Dorsal side of a control heart at E9.75 is covered by epicardium and ventral side shows some epicardial islands, while the dorsal and ventral sides of a CKO heart were not covered.
Tbx18Cre/+; Cdc42fl/+; mTmG (control) and Tbx18Cre/+; Cdc42fl/fl; mTmG (CKO) hearts at E9.75 were fixed and whole mount stained for αTubulin and PH3, a marker for mitotic cells. Then the embryos were cleared and 3D imaged, and then reconstructed via Imaris. Suppl. Movie 5 shows the reconstructed control heart. Suppl. Movie 6 shows the reconstructed CKO heart. The control heart shows more epicardial coverage than the CKO hearts, and some epicardial islands.
