Displacement of apical cells is greater and more directed than that of basal cells.
15-hour time-lapse movie of XY projections of confocal Z-stacks taken near the mid-apex (top) and base (bottom) of an E14 equivalent Atoh1^Cre*PR; R26R^ZsGreen explant. Individual cells and migration tracks are pseudo-colored. Images were captured at 10 min. intervals. Some cells become brighter and visible within the imaged region during the time-lapse as ZsGreen accumulates.
