Time-lapse imaging showing coupled folding of the heart mesoderm and the overlying endoderm during formation of the heart tube and foregut. A stripe of cells was labeled with DiI (magenta) in one of the heart primordia; unintentionally, a few cells of the adjacent endoderm were labeled and subsequently tracked. Selected images are shown in Figure 5A.
