MMP migration and differentiation in an SU5402-treated embryo. Time-lapse imaging of MMPs in an SU5402-treated embryo expressing six1b:lyn-GFP (green) and mylpfa:mCherry (magenta) transgenes. MMPs from somite 4 initially migrate toward the region where the fin bud would normally form in a wild-type embryo, but subsequently contribute to the PHM. Cells are tracked from somite 4 (white dots and lines) to illustrate migratory routes. Images were taken every 5 minutes from 28 to 50 hpf. This time-lapse is representative of embryos imaged (N=5).
