Transverse sections of whole-body tissues of hoxaa cluster mutants. After skeletal analysis by micro-CT scanning, the same specimens used in Movie 1 and Movie 6 were stained with Lugol’s solution. Soft tissues in wild-type zebrafish and hoxaa cluster mutants were visualized by micro-CT scanning and the images were reconstructed as transverse sections. In the upper panels, the location of the section shown in the movies is indicated by a vertical line.
