Adult fat body cells continue to divide even after the formation of the sheet-like architecture. Representative movie of successive cell division events during 61-75 h APF. The AFB at the tergite was visualized by expressing CD4::tdGFP (green, middle) and RedStinger (magenta, right) under the control of 31F09-Gal4 plus Ay-Gal4. Cell membranes visualized with CD4::tdGFP highlighted part of the AFB with their sheet-like arrangement. RedStinger signals revealed frequent cell division events in adult fat body cells. Note that the total area size of CD4::tdGFP signals after the sheet formation was largely unchanged during observations (63-75 h APF), resulting in smaller adult fat body cells in the last frame.
