Movie 8.

AFBp cells in the head migrated anteriorly. Representative frontal view movie of AFBp cells in the head during 25-30 h APF, from a fly aged at 29°C from puparium formation onward. CD4::tdGFP expression were induced after puparium formation by using c833-Gal4, ppl-4kb-Gal80, and tub-Gal80[ts]. tub-Gal80[ts] was employed to suppress GFP signals in degrading larval salivary gland cells. AFBp cells predominantly migrated along the anteroposterior axis at the frons. Their migration steps were weakly biased toward the anterior direction, as quantified in Fig. 5C. Anterior is to the left, with the right compound eye in the upper and the proboscis in the lower portion of the frame.
