Continuous live imaging of T. ni pupal hindwing from 1 h to 24 h APF (0.7%–17% development). Hoechst33342 dye was used as a live nuclear stain and a single SOP nucleus is pseudocolored in blue. A first division resulted in SOP-II and a transient pIIb that apoptose, following a second division that results in a scale- and socket-building cell.
