Actin accumulation does not occur around midbodies in ced-2 mutants. Time-lapse movie showing that actin does not accumulate around the P0 midbody (arrowhead) in engulfment regulator ced-2 mutants. Note that the midbodies are also not internalized. The strain expresses fluorescent reporters for non-muscle myosin (NMY-2::GFP) to label midbodies (yellow) and LifeAct::RFP to label F-actin (cyan). The right panel shows actin alone. Time-lapse data were collected during the 4-cell stage every 20 seconds for 9 minutes (5 fps). 3 Zs are projected (Z interval 1.2 μm).
