Cin8-mediated antiparallel MT sliding.
Red MTs are immobilized to the glass surface, yellow MTs are free in solution; Cin8 is shown in white. Left panel: immobilized and free MTs; right panel: immobilized MTs and Cin8. MTs#1-3: Cin8 is concentrated at the leading minus-end of the sliding MTs. MT#1: two antiparallel MTs are initially attached by Cin8 at their minus-end; MT#3: a sliding MT is switching between two nearly perpendicular red MTs.
