(Related to Figure 4). Time-lapse confocal imaging of a X. laevis embryo at NF stage 10-11 injected with either MO+MgcWT-3xGFP (left) or MO+MgcSxNN-3xGFP (right). MgcWT-3xGFP accumulates strongly at the equatorial cortex just before cleavage furrow ingression, then follows the ingressing furrow. In contrast, MgcSxNN-3xGFP does not localize as strongly to the equatorial cortex, but instead is partially redistributed along the cell membrane. The movie is 5.5 min long, showing 21 frames with a time interval of 16 s (13 z-planes per time point), played back at 10 fps. Scale = 20 µm.
