Upon cytokinesis AJ formation precedes SJ formation and a 4-cell structure is created.
Confocal time-lapse movie of Dlg::GFP (green) and E-Cad::3mKate2 (red) distributions in the dividing cell and its neighbours during cytokinesis. E-Cad::3mKate2 signal was projected at the level of the AJ and Dlg::GFP was projected at the level of the SJ to highlight their respective dynamics. Green arrowheads, deforming septate junction marked by Dlg::GFP at the 4-cell structure formed at the interface between the two daughter cells and neighbouring cells; red arrowheads, forming AJ between the two daughter cells.
