To visualize calcium transients generated intracellularly by L. amazonensis MEFs were loaded with the calcium probe Fluo-4AM and incubated with LLa-RFP in calcium-free medium. Cells were imaged for 15 min in a Nikon C2 confocal microscope at 10 frames/s.
