Each frame represents volume-rendered 3D-images captured at 5s-intervals, collected by SCLIM. Small vesicles emerged from Rab11a-defined GA-RE (Golgi #1 and Figure 6G). A course of fission and fusion of REs was observed (Figure 6F). A Free RE indicated by arrowhead (0:00) divided into two pieces and the upper piece fused to another free-RE. The lower piece fused to a small RE attached to Golgi #2 (0:10), and later the whole GARE detached from Golgi #2 (0:35) and fused to the RE between Golgi #3 and #4 (00:55). The unoccupied Golgi #2 was fused with another free-RE came from below (1:55) (Figure 6F). Scale bar: 1 μm.
