The optic tectum of WT larvae contains no neutrophils. Z-scroll in dorsal view, rostral to the left, through a confocal z-stack spanning the entire OT of a WT Tg(mpeg1mCherry; mpx:GFP) sibling of the mutant larva shown in Movie 8. Neutrophils appear only towards the end of the z-scroll, in intersititial tissue outsied the brain. In the left panel, the bright-field channel is superimposed on the red and green fluorescence channels so as to show anatomical contours; the right panel shows only the overlay of red and green fuorescence channels so as to see these signals better.
