Hard X-ray ptychographic nanotomography (PXCT) of the outer plexus layer (25 μm diameter-microsample of 20 μm height) of a wild-type mouse retina Reconstructed tomogram (voxel size 44nm, field of view ∼ 20 × 20 μm²) from wild-type mouse retina. The movie loops back and forth through the tomogram images. The yellow, green and orange arrows appearing along the first half of the movie point respectively rod synapses, a somatic synapse and a synaptic ribbon.
