Reduced FA translocation and disassembly within retracting membranes. WT U2OS cells (WT, upper row) and S100A11 KO U2OS cells (SA11, lower row) transfected with vinculin-mCherry to mark FAs were imaged by timelapse epifluorescence microscopy for 1 h. The images show 40 × 40 μm² subregions displaying active membrane retraction. Overlays (right images) display tracked FAs (red) and FA trajectories (yellow).
