3D distribution of organelles in adult mouse podocyte. The distribution of organelles within the podocyte is shown in the transparent reconstruction images. The Golgi apparatuses (light blue) are located around the nucleus (dark blue) in the cell body. A few small lysosomes (red) are localized at the periphery of the cell body. Mitochondria (green) are not only abundant in the cell body but also within the primary processes. The centrosome (yellow) is observed in the vicinity of the nucleus. The primary cilium does not grow from the mother centriole in adult mouse podocytes. This transparent podocyte is the same as that shown in Fig. 5C.
