3D distribution of podocyte nuclei in adult mouse glomerulus. The nuclei of all 119 podocytes (purple) in a whole glomerulus are reconstructed. All podocyte nuclei are located between the mountainous ridges of the GBM (gray) created by glomerular capillary loops. The second half of the movie shows the largest section of the glomerulus. The nuclei of podocytes exist only at the superficial region of glomerulus. This glomerulus is the same as that shown in Fig. 4A.
