Successful attempt of brood theft
The video shows a successful attempt of brood theft by a thief ant from a victim colony. The members of the victim colony were marked with colour combinations involving golden, whereas the members of the thief colony were marked with colour combinations involving blue. In this video, the thieving ant (marked green-blue-green or GBG) enters the victim nest from the bottom of the frame, locates a pupa, seizes the pupae using its mandibles and then quickly exits the nest with it.
