Ratchet turn in which the tuna moves the caudal fin is swept through multiple asymmetrical strokes to produce small turns, which are summed to produce a larger global turn. The red diamonds and little blue diamonds show the sequential positions of rostrum and caudal fin through the turn, respectively.
