Movie 2.

A small percentage of strikes from snapping shrimp did not achieve full closure. Incomplete strikes were only seen in snapping shrimp with claws smaller than 1 mg. Movie shows a dorsal view of a snapping shrimp strike, with the snapping claw in focus and the body trailing to the right of the screen. Rotation of the dactyl begins at 00:04″; however, the dactyl never fully closes and no cavitation bubble is generated. Movie was filmed at 300,000 frames s-1, played back at 30 frames s-1.
