We studied the light avoidance behavior by monitoring whether fish prefer to stay in the shade or the bright side of a small tank. When fish were initially placed in the bright region, they immediately swam to the shaded region, and when placed in the shaded region they remained there during 10 minutes of observation (sign test p=0.0156, N=7).
