A Video Tutorial for Entering a Plasmid. From the “applications” dropdown list or home menu, selecting the plasmid database will open the default record view. Expand the window and zoom in. Go to “Create New Record” and then begin entering your record's info, starting with the numbering system your lab will employ. Select the typical “use” categories, then the backbone and type of plasmid, and enter the growth conditions and other information, such as the construction, inserts, tags, and other relevant information. Then plasmid maps and electronic files can be added to the record directly by dragging and dropping these files into the database. Finally, add any relevant cloning for further information on the design and construction of this plasmid.
