Movie 2.

Time-lapse imaging of oocyte meiosis in an oops-l(tnl898) null mutant. Segregation of chromosomes at meiosis I occurs but the first polar body fails to form, and the chromosomes collapse back into the oocyte. The meiosis II segregation event occurs with double the number of chromosomes, and the second polar body fails to form. This mutant phenotype is referred to as the “completion phenotype” in the main text. Chromatin is labelled in red, and microtubules are labelled in green. Time-lapse taken at 30 sec intervals for 41.5 min (84 frames).
