Movie 3.

Time-lapse imaging of oocyte meiosis in an oops-l(tnl898) null mutant showing an example of the meiotic arrest phenotype. Segregation of chromosomes at meiosis I occurs but the first polar body fails to form, and the chromosomes collapse back into the oocyte. Chromosome segregation during meiosis II does not occur and the meiosis II spindle that encircles the chromosomes appears to fall apart. Chromatin is labelled in red, and microtubules are labelled in green. Time-lapse taken at 30 sec intervals for 64.5 min (130 frames).
