Rendered volume of F. rotunda from Fig. 1. Emissions for SYBR Safe (blue), FM4-64 (green), and chlorophyll fluorescence (red) have been merged into one image. Volumes and animations were generated with NIS elements software. The animation rotates the volume twice: first removing the chlorophyll fluorescence (red) to reveal the FM4-64 (green) and SYBR safe (blue) and then restoring the chlorophyll fluorescence.
